WHAT TECHNOLOGY DO I NEED FOR A TELEHEALTH VISIT?
All you will need is a smartphone, tablet or laptop with microphone and camera! You will connect with Midwest Nephrology through a link that will be sent to your smartphone as a text message. You touch the link, type in your name and say yes to the camera and microphone. No download is needed.
WILL MY APPOINTMENT BE PRIVATE?
Of course! Midwest Nephrology Associates is utilizing a platform called Doximity or Doxy.me. These are completely confidential and HIPAA compliant. No data or images will be stored. Your appointment will be completely private and confidential, just as it would be if it were in our office.
DO TELEHEALTH VISITS COST EXTRA?
Telehealth Visits cost the same as in-person appointments. You may be subject to a copay or coinsurance as you would for in person office visit.
DOES MY INSURANCE COVER TELEHEALTH VISITS?
During the COVID19 crisis, most insurers are covering virtual visits. You may contact your insurance directly to find out if virtual or tele-health visits are covered and what your expense will be. Some plans require patients to pay a co-pay.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TELEHEALTH VISIT?

We ask that you are available 15 minutes before, and up to 15 minutes after your appointment time. Our medical assistant will call to review your medications prior to your appointment.

HOW DO I JOIN A TELEHEALTH VISIT?
1. You will receive a text message from the number, 882-86.
2. In the text message there will be a link, click on that link.
3. Once prompted, allow access to your camera and microphone on your smartphone.
